Energy / Solutions / Commissioning power
Prove it before you hand it over.
Testing and commissioning needs power before the permanent supply is available, and it needs load before the real load exists. Temporary generation plus resistive load banks let plant be energised, exercised and proven — with the readings documented for the consultant.

01You’re here because
One of these is true.
- Plant needs energising for testing before the permanent supply is live.
- A consultant or third party requires witnessed acceptance testing.
- New generators or UPS need proving at full and overload conditions.
- Chillers, pumps or HVAC need commissioning against a realistic load.
- Integrated systems testing is scheduled and there is no building load yet.
02How we deliver it
Commissioning & testing power
01
Power for T&C, sized to the test
Commissioning load is spiky and often much smaller than the design load. We size for what the test actually draws rather than the eventual building demand, so you are not paying for capacity that never gets used.
02
Artificial load where real load does not exist yet
Resistive load banks provide the load an empty building cannot. Stepped 25 / 50 / 75 / 100 / 110% testing with readings logged at each step until they stabilise.
03
Witnessed and documented
Consultant and third-party witness formats accepted. Every test leaves with a signed report — stepped readings, ambient conditions, instrument details and pass/fail against the acceptance criteria.
04
Transient and step-load behaviour
Block loads applied and removed to verify governor and AVR recovery — frequency dip, voltage dip and recovery time measured against the specified performance class.
05
Paralleling and redundancy proving
For multi-set installations, synchronising, load sharing and N+1 proving with one set deliberately dropped — the test that shows redundancy is real rather than designed.
Commissioning power
What clients ask.
Can you load test a generator we did not supply?
Yes. Commissioning and annual load testing is a service in its own right — load banks are available as a dry hire with cabling and metering, or as a fully attended test where our engineers run it and issue the report. What does the commissioning report include?
Stepped load readings with voltage, frequency, current, temperatures and pressures at each step; ambient conditions; instrument identification and calibration references; the acceptance criteria applied; and a pass/fail statement signed by the supervising engineer.Do we need temporary power as well as a load bank?
It depends what is being tested. Proving a new generator needs a load bank only — the set under test provides the power. Commissioning chillers, pumps or HVAC before the permanent supply exists needs a generator to energise them, and sometimes a load bank as well to give the system something to work against.
